چکیده

Recent results of research passive and active optical waveguides made high-purity chalcogenide glasses for middle infrared fiberoptic evanescent wave spectroscopy liquid gaseous substances are presented. On the basis selenide telluride glass fibers, novel types highly sensitive fiber probes developed. Pr(3+)- Tb(3+)-doped Ga(In)-Ge-As-Se Ga-Ge-Sb-Se 4.2–6 μm wavelength radiation sources created all-fiber sensor systems. Successful testing sensors analysis some mixtures was carried out.

Design of an efficient mid-IR light source using chalcogenide holey fibers: a numerical study

We report the design of a highly nonlinear holey fiber for making a mid-infrared light source at 4.36 μm. A solid-core chalcogenide-based index-guided holey microstructured optical fiber with circular air holes has been exploited to numerically demonstrate wavelength translation via four-wave mixing. We employ a thulium-doped fiber laser as the pump with a power of 5 W. Our simulations indicate...

Integrated chalcogenide waveguide resonators for mid-IR sensing: leveraging material properties to meet fabrication challenges.

In this paper, attributes of chalcogenide glass (ChG) based integrated devices are discussed in detail, including origins of optical loss and processing steps used to reduce their contributions to optical component performance. Specifically, efforts to reduce loss and tailor optical characteristics of planar devices utilizing solution-based glass processing and thermal reflow techniques are pre...

A mid-IR source with increased bandwidth using tapered As2S3 chalcogenide photonic crystal fibers

We present simulation results for supercontinuum generation using tapered As2S3 chalcogenide photonic crystal fibers (PCFs). We demonstrate that an increased soliton self-frequency shift can be achieved using a tapered PCF. There is an optimal tapered PCF, which yields an additional 0:4 mm shift to longer wavelengths relative to the shift that is obtained in an untapered PCF, leading to an incr...
